Kurt R. Ringenbach is a partner and wealth advisor with Stratos Wealth Partners. He provides customized financial planning and investment advice to households, charities, and corporate retirement plans. He helps individuals and families pursue their lifestyle spending and wealth transfer goals through prudent management of risk and wise use of financial resources. He also enables endowments and foundations to address their short-term and long-term spending needs through properly balanced investment programs. Kurt also attempts to protect his clients from financial catastrophes by helping them quantify their need for life, long term disability, and long term care insurance.

Kurt’s advice is differentiated in that the major influences on his decisions are client-centric rather than market or economy driven. His advice is based on a client’s cash needs as well as their tolerance for losses and account value fluctuations. Nevertheless, Kurt is an avid reader and student of financial markets, economics, and particularly the history of financial market bubbles. His conclusions from studying these topics are that the market is largely unpredictable and thus knowable factors, like our clients’ goals and emotional capacity for risk, are more important when providing advice.

Kurt began his career in financial services at Charles Schwab and Co. Inc. in 1995 after graduating from Carleton College with a B. A. in Economics, which he attended on a National Merit Scholarship. He also holds an MBA from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University, which he attended on a full merit based scholarship and from which he graduated first in his class. In addition to his financial services industry experience, Kurt spent six years in a variety of management positions with a large privately held industrial supply distributor.

Kurt has completed course work through the College for Financial Planning and earned an Executive Certificate in Financial Planning from John Carroll University. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP ®) Practitioner.

Kurt resides with his wife and three children in Pepper Pike, Ohio. He spends most of his time outside the office with his family. Still he finds time to give back to his community currently serving on the board of directors for the Nature Center at Shaker Lakes. Kurt is also a graduate of the Cleveland Bridge Builders Flagship Program class of 2004 as well as a former partner of Cleveland Social Venture Partners. Kurt also enjoys endurance sports, despite his typical mid-pack performances, having completed numerous marathons, triathlons, and most recently a century ride.
