Jay started his early financial advisory career at AG Edwards, before meeting up at Merrill Lynch with his business partner Sharon Barton.  Jay and Sharon had initially met through participation in a local civic organization.   Prior to financial services, Jay was a special assistant to US Secretary of the Interior Bruce Babbitt.  He also served as executive director of the Arizona Water Infrastructure Finance Authority (“AZWIFA”) in the administration of former Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano.

Jay earned his Bachelor of General Studies in Business Administration at Northern Arizona University and attended The Johns Hopkins University where he earned a Master of Science in Real Estate. Jay is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certificant, a designation awarded by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc.

Jay and his wife Bethany live in Phoenix with their two children. Jay is a life committee member of the Fiesta Bowl committee and active with the Arizona Alumni Chapter of the Alpha Epsilon Pi Fraternity. Jay currently serves on the Board of Directors for Arizona Helping Hands (“AHH”), a foster care resource organization.
